Summary:This article provides an overview of the main trends in the creation of educational programs for gifted students in schools in Europe, USA and Canada. It is focused on general principles in developing the content of curricula for gifted students, such as taking into account individual features of the development of talent, high-level cognitive motivation and specific educational interests. It also describes the strategies of accelerating, expanding and enriching school material and features of their use in various models of educational programs for gifted students.
