Summary:Inflammatory diseases of the ear are among the most acute problems in modern otorhinolaryngology. Patients with various forms of otitis media account for 34% of all patients served by outpatient clinics. According to the Medical Statistics Bureau of the Moscow Health Department, in 2003-2010 the proportion of patients with otitis media in the total number of patients with ear diseases visiting ENT specialists at municipal polyclinics reached an average of 50%.
