Researches were carried out in CAPES journal gateway, using the descriptors Mini Nutritional Assessment, elderly and Nutritional Status, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, published between the years 2005 and 2015. Six hundred twenty-eight articles were identified and, during screening and eligibility, 582 articles were excluded, according to established criteria. After these steps, 43 articles were selected for review. Nineteen articles were identified with residents of long-term care facilities for elderly people, eight with elderly people in the community, 11 articles with hospitalized elderly and five with elderly people assessed in other places, which points to the feasibility of using MNA in different settings. It has been observed that malnutrition has still been frequent and with higher prevalence in hospitalized and institutionalized elderly people, when compared to elderly in the community. In this way, the Mini Nutritional Assessment is an instrument widely used in different care settings, being possible to observe that specific conditions of each settings can interfere in the nutritional status of the elderlyhttp://www.uesb.br/revista/rsc/ojs/index.php/rsc/article/view/426/416Nutritional AssessmentNutritional StatusElderly
