Description
Summary:This text had as aim to consider the Categories State and hegemony in Antonio Gramsci (1891- 1937), while theoretical contribution in educational policies research. Thereunto, it indicated through a historical bias, the educational policies field in Brazil and the use of Gramsci theoretical base, mainly the use of the Categories State and hegemony. Then, it discussed the concept of State in Gramsci and finally problematized the concept of hegemony in its relation with the State. It also considered, according some authors (Lustosa, 2016; Schelesener, 2014), there were misconceptions on the Category State by the Gramsci theory in Brazil. The concept of State in Gramsci has advances within the Marx tradition, and the elation with the State with the category hegemony signals to a thought of counter-hegemonic action by the sub-class in civil society scope.
