Description
Summary:The mask of power in Eyes Wide Shut. The metamorphosis of desire from Schnitzler to Kubrick. Through Kubrick's most controversial work, the subject of power is to be tackled from an anthropological and philosophical political point of view. Human desire oscillates between the vital instinct and the impulse of death. In this work the relationships between "affective bond" and "narcissistic and rivalry desire" are analyzed. But to dig into the dark side of love means to risk discovering a very strong feeling of death, the inversion of the vital instinct in orgiastic and homicidal rituals. Two great authors have ventured into trying to focus attention on the most profound existential aspects of human desire, which are the foundation for social institutions.
