In 381 (40,5%) patients malignant tumor was localized in the rectum, in 142 (37,3%) of them, it had a distal location. Quality of life was studied in 65 patients with cancer of the distal rectum. To assess the quality of life used test version of the questionnaire SF-36 Health Status Survey. The study showed that in the preoperative period in patients with cancer of the distal rectum is a reduction of all the parameters of quality of life, and in the immediate and late postoperative period the quality of life is determined by the type and volume of surgical intervention.
