In Cuba, cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death. Your diagnosis can be challenging.<br /> <strong>Objective:</strong> To present the ethical, technological and economic advantages of myocardial perfusion in the diagnostic process of ischemic heart disease.<br /> </span><span style="color: #000000; font-family: verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>Material and Methods:</strong> A systematized search of primary literature was carried out in databases such as Scielo, Sciencedirect and Elsevier.<br /> </span><span style="color: #000000; font-family: verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>Results:</strong> In the present article, the studies of myocardial perfusion in ischemic heart disease were analyzed as a social problem of science, technology and society, paying particular attention to the social, ethical, technological and economic implications. Myocardial perfusion studies are widely used as noninvasive functional methods for the diagnosis of coronary heart disease. It is a technique easily performed, with minimal complications and side effects, and consequently with wide acceptance by the patients.<br /> </span><span style="color: #000000; font-family: verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>Conclusions:</strong> Noninvasive investigations for the study of myocardial perfusion have a well established place in the diagnostic process of the patient with ischemic heart disease for the purposes of early diagnosis and risk stratification with high sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility indexes and their incorporation into the social welfare practice also has solid bioethical and economic foundations.</span><span style="color: #000000; font-family: verdana; font-size: small;"><strong> </strong></span></p><p style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="color: #000000; font-family: verdana; font-size: small;"><strong>Keywords:</strong> Myocardial perfusion, ischemic heart disease, social implications, ethical implication.</span></p>http://www.revhabanera.sld.cu/index.php/rhab/article/view/2008
