Description
Summary:Romania can claim the status of destination for exploration, leisure and travel and the recent developments prove the interest for developing and improving itineraries, and infrastructures, while pursuing to identify the most relevant issues for increasing the competitiveness of the Romanian tourism and travel sector. Our paper, by analysing some indicators relevant for the domestic tourism and travel sector attempts on one hand to identify how organisation and activities’ improvement might contribute in achieving this goal, by estimating the preferences of domestic tourists as regards inbound and outbound tourism and travel. As the pandemic has played and continues to play an important role in the development of the tourism and travel sector, overall, as regards the HORECA industry, we will attempt also to draw some broad lines as regards ‘guesstimating’ the future of tourism and travel in the ‘new normal’ circumstances.
