Promotion of sexual and reproductive health of women in the gender perspective: an extensionist action

Objective: To report experiences of sexual and reproductive health promotion with women participating in an extension project. Methods: Experience report of an experience that took place in November 2016 with women participating in the extension project “Women in action for health and citizenship”, of the Nursing course at the Integrated Regional University of Alto Uruguai e dos Missões, Santiago Campus, LOL. This project lasted three years. Theoretical references of Sexuality and Gender were used. Results: The promotion of women's sexual and reproductive health can be enriched by health education actions from a gender perspective, given that this approach makes it possible to view the subject beyond sexual differences. Conclusion: It is believed that the activity has transcended the traditional model of lectures, that is, it has sought to value women by including them as the protagonists of their own self-care, rescuing independence and knowledge about sexuality and gender.
