Summary:The surgical reconstruction of nose also termed 'Rhinoplasty' is as old as human civilisation. While major contribution of total nasal reconstruction originated in India by Sushrutha in around 600 B.C and later paved its way to the modern facial plastic surgery in North America and Europe in 18th century and popularised the Indian methods of nasal reconstruction to develop cosmetic and corrective rhinoplasty.
