Summary: | Early detection of liver metastases is important in patients with known primary malignancies. This plays an important role in treatment planning and impacts on further management of certain primary malignancies. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), and positron emission tomography-computed tomography scans are reported to have high accuracy in the diagnosis of intrahepatic lesions. MRI in particular has the advantages of its high tissue sensitivity and its multiparametric approach. Hepatic metastatic lesions have considerable overlap in their radiological appearance, and in this article the imaging appearance of various hepatic metastasis and approach is described. |
