Distribución y preferencias de microhábitat en Anuros (Amphibia) en bosque maduro y áreas perturbadas en Anchicayá, Pacífico colombiano

We studied the richness, distribution, and microhabitat selection of anurans at Anchicayá, on the Pacific region of Colombia, an area under deforestation. We distributed nine sampling transects within three habitats (rnature forest, transition forest, and deforested areas) and sarnpled thern during seven months (October 1995 through April 1996). We found 15 species of anurans; Eleutherodactylus raniformis, Agalychnis spurrelli and Smilisca phaeota were the rnost abundant, with 158, 58 and 42 individuals respectively. The richness and distribution of anurans was affected by human disturbance; the nurnber of species in the transitional habitat was greatest due to greater cornplexitv of the vegetation, which offers high microhabitat diversity. The construction of artificial bodies of water rnav influence the distribution and abundance of species reproducing in lentic water, as A. spurrelli.<br>Se estudió la riqueza de anuros, su distribución y selección de microhabitats en la región de Anchicayá, Pacifico colombiano, la cual comienza a ser sometida a deforestación. Se distribuyeron nueve lotes de muestreo en tres hábitats (bosque maduro, bosque de transición y áreas deforestadas) y se muestrearon durante siete meses (octubre de 1995 a abril de 1996). Se encontraron 15 especies de anuros, siendo los más abundantes Eleutherodactylus raniformis, Agalychnis spurrelli y Smilisca phaeota, con 158, 58 y 42 individuos respectivamente. La riqueza y distribución de anuros se vio afectada por la intervención humana. El número de especies fue mayor en el hábitat de transición, debido a una mayor complejidad vegetal, que ofrece una alta diversidad de microhábitats. La construcción de cuerpos de agua artificiales puede influir en la distribución y abundancia de especies que se reproducen en aguas quietas, como sucedió con A. spurrelli.
