Is the Commonwealth of Independent States the instrument of the economic integration of the post-Soviet space? How effectually does it perform this function? Why weren't the CIS countries able to work out the compromise model of economic cooperation? Why did the "economic projects" of the 1990s have a low functionality and why did they appear not promissing? The author tries to come with response to the mentioned questions as well as some other issues.
