Summary:The interview is an invaluable opportunity to know the adolescent and its contexts. The health professional needs commitment, professionalism and other individual skills that allow it to obtain sufficient and relevant information, which represents the best resource of communication between both parties. The principles of confidentiality, beneficence and autonomy, govern much of the relationship with the teenager in the understanding of its scopes and rights. A well planned interview is necessary for diagnosis and specific treatment in each case, also establish a good relationship with the patient, with the principal objective of facilitating the acquisition of life skills, empowerment and resilience.
