Description
Summary:Human trafficking has become a major issue in the context of the new migration dynamics between Eastern and Western Europe. Information campaigns have been launched in several Eastern European states to inform people about the dangers connected to trafficking and to prevent it. This article analyses the nature of these campaigns and shows that they are also used to fight irregular migration, thus becoming a tool in migration control policies. It proposes a critical interpretation of the justifications for these campaigns, which stem from the ambiguities surrounding human trafficking.
