Summary:This article is an attempt to analyse the history of the modern quality women's press in Spain. It is a history determined by the arrival in the mid´80s of the large international publishing groups, with their already well-known Elle, Vogue, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan. This phenomenon determined the fate of many publications by Spanish companies which already existed and had to be redesigned, as is the case of Telva, or which simply disappeared, as was the case with the magazines Ama and Dunia. A women's press market which is now again convulsed by the appearance of new tittles: Nova, In Style, Chic, Psychologies…
