Summary:The paper addresses the problem of low profitability of fresh pork production in Moldovan pig farmers. The author analyses, in a complex way, the structure of the production of pork from the producer to the processor, which identifies the main problem – the added value to the pig producers is well below that of the processors and its size does not allow the economic development. The Sensitivity Analysis in the paper presents some possible scenarios for obtaining a sufficient return. It proposes a matrix of profitability of pork production on the basis of the researches carried out. As a factual basis for the elaboration of this scientific article, the field results obtained within the project “Determining the influence of the factors influencing the change of the efficiency of the meat breeding efficiency in the conditions of liberalization of the internal market” within the State Program Development of competitiveness and economic growth In the context of an economy based on knowledge, globalization and regional and European integration.
