| Summary: | This article analyzes the issue of ethnicity and gender in historical studies, with a brief description of these studies in Brazil, and discusses methodological questions such as the interdisciplinary approach and the contribution of special areas such as anthropology, sociology and literature to our understanding of historical studies, and the different sources available for this research. Furthermore, it touches on the representation of sexual roles as important elements in social history.<br>O artigo aborda a quest&atilde;o do g&ecirc;nero e etnia nos estudos hist&oacute;ricos, a partir de uma breve trajet&oacute;ria desses estudos no Brasil. Discute quest&otilde;es metodol&oacute;gicas como a interdisciplinaridade e a contribui&ccedil;&atilde;o de &aacute;reas do conhecimento, como a antropologia, a sociologia e a literatura nos estudos hist&oacute;ricos e as fontes diversificadas dispon&iacute;veis para esta pesquisa. Refere-se ainda &agrave; representa&ccedil;&atilde;o dos pap&eacute;is sexuais como elementos importantes na hist&oacute;ria social. |
