This paper intends to analyze international publications about the use of ontologies in the context of performance measures. We have performed a bibliometric survey in three international databases. This research was conducted in two major steps: (i) systematic literature search, and (ii) analysis and synthesis of bibliometric information. Were located 115 papers, written by 362 authors from 84 institutions in 101 different countries and are published in 38 journals. The authors also identified 981 different keywords in their studies. Studies, in general, demonstrate the possibility of using ontologies as semantic tools at different stages and moments of the performance measures, especially with regard to knowledge representation and elucidation of key process indicators, enabling interoperability of these indicators. From the identification of these studies, the present work contributes to the understanding of the possibilities of application of ontologies to support the processes of performance measurement performing the mapping of international publications of this theme and showing the possibility of application of ontologies, especially in the representation of knowledge involved in this task.
