Summary: | The municipal press first appeared in France in the 1960s. The more-professional municipal magazine remains the model that best reflects the expectations of elected officials and the public today. The author, investigating the restoration of the voice of the other in politics, considers the form in which the voice of the governed has been restored by elected officials through editorial committees, and to what extent the method and place of communication influence how statements of “absent third parties” are represented. The data was collected (2013) during editorial committee meetings in three Metropolitan Bordeaux communes and involved elected officials and communications professionals. |
