Description
Summary:It is not very appropriate to use solid wood in curved surfaces and in large dimensions as one piece. Because the use of solid wood increases the loss and also negatively effects the strength proporties because of diagonal cut of the fibers. These disadvantages can be eliminated by using lamination technique which is done by bonding wood veneers paralel to grain direction. For this reson, the use of laminated wood materials gained important popularity nowdays. By using wood with different thickness and color proporties, laminated materials can be aesthetic and they can be used in (window frame, furniture, doors, windows, chairs etc.) and because of having excellent structural industries ( roofs, exhibition areas, sport areas, bridges etc.)In this study, the construction of bearns and walls using laminated materials and especially in structural applications were explained with examples.
