Among the immune diseases is usually the one that more involves deterioration and compromise the respiratory system. The complex consisting by pleura, lungs and vascular structures is responsible not only for the vital function of the swap gases but other complex activities. The breaking of the harmonic functioning due to complications caused by the SLE not only debilitates the patient, but putting in risk its life. So, it was decided to describe a case report intending to observe and register the presence of the complications originated from the SLE. Having for base this objective, the subjective of the research was a 30 year-old woman, pregnant, white skin who was admitted in the Therapy Intensive Unit with the clinical and laboratorial diagnosis of SLE. Through this study, it was showed up that the knowledge of the origin and pathological evolution of the SLE allows a precocious diagnosis, a premature and efficient intervention, besides allowing the elaboration of a physical therapy approach and the adequate selection of the procedures and techniques that promote prophylaxis and reduction in pulmonary and pleural complications.http://ojs.unifor.br/index.php/RBPS/article/view/684lúpus eritematoso sistêmico, pulmões, pleura, complicações respiratórias
