Importantly, the model allowed for the real-scale testing of a bentonite sealing layer which was applied in such a way as to provide protection against leakages along the concrete wall. The model of the dam will be carefully monitored so as to identify potential leakages once the reservoir of the experimental dam has been filled with water.
