All strains of gram-positive pathogens were susceptible to linezolid (its minimal inhibitory concentration was ≤ 4 µg/ml). The drug was used in combination with β-lactam antibiotics or aminoglycosides. All the infants displayed positive microbiological changes. Clinical effectiveness was noted in 95% of the newborn infants.
