Description
Summary:Considering Simone de Beauvoir's conceptualization of the body as a situation, and the sociocultural fact that women -as a human group- are oppressed/repressed in all societies, the paper underlines: a) how the woman's body is considered an object for repression as it is subordinated to the desires of the domineering, and b) how, by regarding the female body as an instrument subdued by the male power in social and family groups, it is oppressed from multiple angles: fashion, body modeling, and gender-related moral behaviour.
