However, research on this subject is scarce.<br /><strong>Objective</strong>: to discover the behaviour<strong> </strong>of sport lesions in the<strong> </strong>musculoskeletal system of athlete children in a sport school.<br /><strong>Method</strong>: a descriptive study, with a series of 3314 injured athlete children in the musculoskeletal system, pertaining to Sport Initiation School Héctor Ruiz Pérez, in the period from September 1995 to August 2015. Children’s distribution by age and sex was analyzed so as the lesions according to the injured anatomic region and the conduct adopted.<br /><strong>Results</strong>: the most frequent lesions<strong> </strong>were in aged around 13 years male children. The 86.8% of the lesions were produced during training; macrotrauma was the most common cause of lesions, mainly acute lesions. Lower limb lesions predominated, superficial contusions and sprain, for which treatment was conservative in most cases.<strong><br />Conclusion</strong>: athlete children suffer more sport injuries in lower limbs, which are generally produced by macrotrauma and conservatively treated.</p>http://medisur.sld.cu/index.php/medisur/article/view/3446medicina deportivatraumatismos en atletasortopediaatletas |
