The above trends reflect the popularity of multimedia publications in various fields of activity in recent years. In particular, a rather popular direction in creating electronic publications is audio books and other multimedia publications with audio information. Primarily in educational activities and various digital media. Therefore, research into the current state of audio information processing technologies for electronic multimedia publications is relevant and important. The analysis of patent information for 2008–2018 years revealed the stable development of modern technologies, methods, hardware and audio information processing software for all kinds of electronic publications. Since 2008, the dynamics of patenting in the field of audio processing technology has been quite stable, as evidenced by the large number of patents published in theUSA,China,Japan,FranceandRussia. The most common areas of patenting are technologies for processing audio information, encoding and decoding methods, software and hardware for processing audio information. The paper presents a developed systematization of the main technologies for image compression in printing systems that differ in the main features: data compression methods, coding algorithms, image classes, compression ratio and image quality after encoding.
