Here, we reviewed the most recent progresses in the field of oligodendrocytes and myelination involved in learning and memory. Firstly, we introduce the evidence demonstrating that the oligodendrocytes and myelination are involved in learning and memory. Secondly, we show the gene expression changes of oligodendrocytes, which are closely associated with the progression of Alzheimer's disease. Third, we introduce a few of drug administration which are used to promote oligodendroglial differentiation and myelination and to rescue impairment of learning and memory.
