In this text, he studies many aspects of labor law, especially legal instruments whose function is to define the rules of the employment relationship, for example the livret ouvrier. Drawing on various examples taken from the law and legal practice of the nineteenth century, Alain Dewerpe reflects on the genesis of these legal instruments and their enforceability.
