Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to review the theme, method and data analysis techniques of dissertations in the field of higher education management between the years 2006-2016. The study was designed as a qualitative case study. As a type of purposive sampling, criterion sampling method was used in the process of sampling. Data were analyzed using content analysis technique. Findings showed that most of the dissertations were prepared in public universities and educational sciences departments. It was also found that there has been a noteworthy increase in the number of dissertations over years. Institutional structure and management processes, financial management, institutional performance, efficiency and globalization in higher education were the most popular themes. Quantitative method was highly adopted in doctoral dissertations whereas qualitative and mixed methods were used more rarely. Random, stratified, purposive and convenient sampling methods were utilized as sampling methods and for data analysis, quantitative techniques were the most preferred ones.
