Summary:The aim of this article is to present the symptoms of Avoid Behaviour in adults who stutter. The article describes the possibilities of Speech and Language Therapy within Fluency Shaping Therapy and Stuttering Modification Therapy approaches in adults who stutter. The author also describes activities that are offered and implemented in the therapeutic programme for students with stuttering in The Support Centre for Students with Special Needs at Palacký University Olomouc. Three persons who stutter - a 26-year-old female (Vendula), a 26-year-old male (Filip) and a 38-year-old male (Karel) - described the challenging situations in their studies at university and in everyday life. They described their experiences, changes and emotions on their journey towards a successful modification of stuttering.
