Summary:Veiling in contemporary Indonesia does not have a single meaning. It has various meanings since many women have worn it with a variety of forms. This study uses a feminist ethnography, where researchers directly involved in the daily lives of respondents to know the meaning behind their veils, the perception and the consequences of their veiling choices which is specifically recorded through the linkage between womens veiling in Yogyakarta and the choice of their public spaces. Additionally, this study wants not only to explore the experiences of women through womens point of view, but also to show the diversity of womens way of religiousness through their veil and how they live with the social world around them.
