Summary:In 2008, as she has chemotherapy to treat breast cancer, Belgian writer Lydia Flem begins to photograph a series of colorful and heterogeneous objects. These conceptual pictures, both visual and textual, will have a major influence on her own writing. This article explores the photo-literary turn in Lydia Flem’s work, focusing on its original poetics: an “anamorphic” poetics, which plays on the principles of displacement and discrepancy between text and image.
