The research also wishes to determine the supports of school leaders? and mentoring program has on beginning teachers. The study employed naturalistic approach. The researcher asked beginning teachers to remark on their experiences as beginning teachers with regards to challenges faced, supports and mentoring. Overall, beginning teachers reflected that the schools actually have an informal induction program but the supports they received were rather lacking. The mentoring program look more like a buddy support system as the mentor program is not structured and utilized well. All respondent expressed some frustration over the supports the received from school. It was recommended that the school leaders should formulate and have a more structured plan for an induction program according to the needs of beginning teachers.
