Almost all aspects of human life are closely related to science and technology. Comparing to the technology breakthrough, the technological advance in the medical field seems very promising. Through the knowledge and the use of highly advanced medical technology, the diagnosis of a disease can be done better. Treatment can result in more effective practice. Besides, the death count of patients who suffer from any particular disease can be done more precisely. Now, the result of the progress in science and technology, particularly advances in medicine, human life has been able to be extended with the use of medicines or modern breathing apparatus. Humans seem to be able to determine whether to let the patients live or die. With the development of technology in medicine, it can possibly create a complicated problem. This situation raises several issues about death associated with euthanasia which means death in peace without pain. Euthanasia can be divided into several categories: active euthanasia, passive euthanasia, voluntary euthanasia, non-voluntary euthanasia and involuntary euthanasia. In Islam, the belief that life and death is determined by Allah and a person does not have the right to end his own life. The issue of euthanasia clearly receives strong protests from Muslim scholars and Islamic Sharia. Therefore, the issue of euthanasia is not only affecting the welfare of patients, but also involves the sensitivity of family members, physicians, and other religions. Thus, the issue of euthanasia should be carefully managed so that it does not create confusion among the public
