Species richness, abundance and habitat of anurans inhabiting the humid montane forests of Carpish (2720 – 2980 masl) (Provincia de Huánuco, Departamento de Huánuco) was studied between october 2001 and august 2002. Six sectors were established, these were distributed at different levels and constituted by the different types of habitats. The area was evaluated during the wet and dry seasons of the Andean region for 30 days, using two sampling methods: visual encounter surveys and pitfall traps. Eight anuran species were found, three are first records for the provincia de Huánuco and five potential new species for the science, two species were published recently and three in description process. From the data the abundance of most abundant genus, Eleutherodactylus, could indicate a decrease with the altitude, however there is not a significant relationship (R2= 0.458, p= 0.139), due to the scarce density of specimens. The anurans are related to the presence of four microhabitats: soil (moss and leaf litter), small plant, fern and bush, which help to maintain humidity and offer protection from the climatic activity (rain, wind and sun). 2013-08-20T20:49:12Z 2013-08-20T20:49:12Z 2007 info:eu-repo/semantics/bacherlorThesis http://cybertesis.unmsm.edu.pe/handle/cybertesis/915 spa info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos Repositorio de Tesis - UNMSM |
