No. of bitstreams: 1 Tese-Eriosvaldo.pdf: 5014159 bytes, checksum: 6b9dedcec94fa8beeb510c966c7fc0ea (MD5) === CAPES/COFECUB === O programa de reestruturação da modernização da cadeia produtiva do caju foi iniciado, no Brasil, desde 2003 pelas ações da Fundação Banco do Brasil (FBB), e de seus parceiros, visando a sua racionalização produtiva, industrial e comercial para proporcionar geração de trabalho e de aumento de renda de agricultores familiares que cultivem ou queiram cultivar o caju, localizados, principalmente, no Nordeste e na Amazônia. No Nordeste, cerca de 40 municípios estão inseridos neste Programa, especialmente entre os estados do Ceará, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte e Bahia e, mais recentemente, Maranhão e Sergipe. O objetivo do presente trabalho é analisar os elementos que constituem e definem a prática da cajucultura no município de Altos, no Piauí, e as condições dos “agricultores-cajucultores” familiares nela inseridos. A proposta da FBB e de seus parceiros ancoram as ações do Programa, e do consequente desenvolvimento da cajucultura às noções dos “fatores de produção como aportes imprescindíveis à modernização no campo, e que veem nas “diversidades de práticas agrícolas e organizacionais” – atualmente existentes neste município – sinais de “desorganização” e de “pobreza tecnológica”, justificando em função disso a baixa produtividade da cajucultura. Contrário a esta perspectiva, partimos da hipótese de que a prática da cajucultura em Altos ocorre, particularmente, a partir de três “Sistemas Produtivos” coexistentes, notadamente: Quintais, Sítios e Fazendas. A análise etnográfica, além de nos ter levado a compreender práticas agrícolas e organizacionais próprias do cultivo do caju, realizadas por “agricultores-cajucultores” familiares inseridos nestes diferentes “Sistemas Produtivos”, revelaram-nos, ainda, formas distintas de ruralidades neles existentes, criadas pelo trabalho, mas, especialmente, pelas possibilidades sociais e econômicas dispostas variavelmente segundo a constituição dos grupos familiares. === The restructuring program for the modernization of the chain of cashew production was initiated, in Brazil, since 2003 by Bank of Brazil Foundation (FBB) and its partners, aimed at the productive, industrial and commercial rationalization, in order to provide employment and increased income of family farmers who want to grow or cultivate cashew, located primarily in the Northeast and the Amazon. In the Northeast, about 40 counties are included in this program, especially among the states of Ceará, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia and more recently, Maranhão and Sergipe. This study aims at analyzing the elements that constitute and define the process of cashew cultivation in Altos, Piauí, and the condition of the cashew family farmers located in the city. The proposal from FBB and its partners anchor the program actions and the consequent development of cashew cultivation to the notions of “factors of production” as indispensable contributions to modernization in the field, and they see in the "diversity of agricultural practices and organizational", currently existing in this city, signs of "disorganization" and "technological poverty", justifying the low productivity of cashew cultivation. Against this perspective, we started from the assumption that the practice of cashew cultivation in Altos occurs, particularly from three coexisting "Production Systems", which are: Backyards, Farms and Ranches. The analysis, besides leading us to understand agricultural and organizational practices which are inherent in the cultivation of cashew performed by family cashew farmers in these “Production Systems”, it showed us distinct forms of ruralities created by the work, but especially by social and economic possibilities variably arranged, according to the constitution of the family groups.
