Description
Summary:Aviation industry has grown significantly in the past years and is forecasted to continue its growing. Running in parallel, environment concerns became more evident and are beginning to drive industry's and everyone's will. The technological development of aeronautical engines and mainly, new engine combustors technologies, have reached successful levels at the end of last century and they are expected to keep on improving their low emission and fuel consumption levels at mid and long-term basis. On the other hand, unfortunately, only technological improvements won't be sufficient to address environmental concerns. In the last 10 years, a "polluter pays" principle was raised in aviation market, to address the NOx high concentrations in terms of local air quality, mainly at big airports proximity. It has turned into a competitive advantage and economical benefit to less polluter aircrafts, at the same time "green" and environmental friendly measures are being most considered.
