Trabalhadores no sal e no sol : o significados do trabalho para os operadores salineiros do oeste potiguar

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2011-11-25 === Workers in West Potiguar who work directly with salt, develop their activities through the sun and salt, which shows to many of them a way of livelihood for themselves and their families. Over the years, this work has undergone significant changes within the process of productive infrastructure, being influenced by the mechanization of the originating industrial revolution. Given this, the present study has as general goal to investigate the meanings of work assigned by thesalt-makers in the WestPotiguar, in processes of production manuals and mechanized. The specifics were described by the work culture Salineira West Potiguar, identifying the meanings of time devoted to work assigned by the salt-makers and investigatingwhatsalt-makers of the West Potiguar do with your free time. Methodologically this studywas a qualitative research with ethnographic approachand semi-structured interviews. Such interviews were analyzed using the method of the Collective Subject Discourse proposed by Lefevre and Lefevre (2010). The results show that the meanings attributed to work by the operators of the salt are diverse, and the main meanings are: survival, dignity, social inclusion, life, welfare, purchasing power and financial independence, as well, the causes included are tiredness, fatigue, heavy body and punishment. The time devoted to work, in case of being made by hand, is conditioned by the individual, which may receive influencesthe laws of nature, specifically rain and sun, and it is selfconditioning; in the case of mechanized the time devoted to work is straightconditioningwhat is determined by culture of the organization itself. Given this, what we conclude is that for operators of salt from the west RN the work has several meanings, even if is something stressful is also necessary because it leads their survival and theirfree time is experienced with situations that brings pleasure and that favor them financially. Keywords: meanings of work; meanings of time devoted to work; operators of salt; free time. === Os trabalhadores no Oeste Potiguar, que trabalham diretamente com sal, desenvolvem as suas atividades em meio ao sol e ao sal, e isto representa para muitos um meio de subsistência para si e para as suas famílias. Ao longo dos anos, este trabalho passou por mudanças significativas dentro do seu processo de estruturação produtiva, sendo influenciado pela mecanização oriunda da revolução industrial. Diante disto, o presente estudo teve como objetivo geral investigar os significados do trabalho atribuídos pelos trabalhadores salineiros no Oeste Potiguar, inseridos em processos de produção manuais e mecanizados. Os específicos foram descrever a Cultura do Trabalhador Salineiro do Oeste Potiguar; identificar os significados do tempo dedicado ao trabalho atribuído pelos trabalhadores salineiros e investigar como os trabalhadores salineiros do Oeste Potiguar vivenciam o seu tempo livre. Metodologicamente foi uma pesquisa qualitativa, com enfoque etnográfico e entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Os dados foram analisados pelo método do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo proposto por Lefevre e Lefevre (2010). Os resultados evidenciam que os significados atribuídos ao trabalho pelos operadores do sal são diversos, sendo os principais: sobrevivência, dignidade, inserção social, vida, bem-estar, poder de compra e independência financeira, subsistência, assim como algo ocasionador de cansaço, fadiga, pesado e castigador. Infere-se que o tempo dedicado ao trabalho, no caso manual, é condicionado pelo próprio indivíduo, recebendo influências das leis da natureza, em específico da chuva e do sol, sendo este autocondicionado; no caso do mecanizado, o tempo dedicado ao trabalho é heterocondicionado determinado pela cultura da própria organização. Diante disto, é possível concluir que para os operadores do sal do oeste potiguar o trabalho possui diversos significados; embora seja algo cansativo, é também necessário, pois acarreta a sobrevivência destes, e o tempo livre é vivido com situações que acarretam prazer e que os favoreçam financeiramente.
