A cláusula de finalidade codifica um objetivo, cuja execução demanda um movimento de X a Y no mundo das intenções, que pode ser simultâneo ao deslocamento no mundo fisico. Os.tipos de cláusulas de finalidade propostos - hipotática canônica (com o subtipo delimitadora de resultado) e hipotática discursiva; cláusulas de fmalidade parentética e de adendo - surgiram a partir de análise de amostras dos corpora. A forma não-marcada é PARA+INF, que ocorre preferencialmente na posição posposta à cláusula núcleo. As posições anteposta, medial e intercalada correspondem às formas marcadas,sendo a primeiramais recorrentena língua escrita e a segunda,na fala. A alteração dessas posições acarreta alteração do valor discursivo. As cláusulas hipotáticas codificam um sujeito preferencialmente correferencial ao sujeito da núcleo, sendo este sujeito normalmente agentivo. A cláusula núcleo é codificada com a estrutura nãomarcada SVO, cujo sujeito é representado por SN pleno na escrita e por SN pronome e morfologia verbal, na fala. As cláusulas de adendo e parentéticas têm como escopo o próprio ato de fala que ajudama constituir.As de adendoocorremapós uma resposta polar, ou como informação adicional em longos turnos de fala. As parentéticas representam a introjeção do locutor no próprio texto, o que acarreta a manifestação de dados do processo discursivo nos enunciados de finalidade === Abstract: This investigation deals with the analyses of purpose clauses in spoken and written data, in functional linguistics. The purpose clauses codify a goal, whose execution manifests the movement :from X to Y in the intention world that can realize in the physical word simultaneously. The purpose clauses which come up from the data are the canonical and discursive hypothetical clauses; the afterthought and parenthetic purpose clauses. The non-marked form is TO + INF, that realize in the final position em relation to main clauses. The initial, medial and intercalated positions correspond to the non-marked forms; the first is more common in written language and the second, in spoken language. The alteration in the positions let us to change the discursive value. The hypothetical clauses codify a subject, which is coreferential to the subject of main clauses. This subject plays an agentive role. The main clause is structured with SVO, whose subject is expressed by SP noun in the writlen language and by SP pronoun or verbal affix in the spoken language. The afterthought and parenthetic clauses have as scope the speech act that they help to realize.The afterthought occurs after a polar answer or as additional information in long talk turns. The parenthetic represents the introduction of the speaker in his own text and this attitude represents the manifestation of discursive processes on the purpose enunciation === Doutorado === Doutor em Linguística
