A research was made with a 7ht grade group, in a public school in Marau / RS, local authority. It was questioned how the Modelling can assist in mathematics learning, making the students like the subject, change their negatives conceptions of mathematics and realize its importance to daily life. The research hands a qualitative and descriptive approach to daily life, with the creation of Modelling. Observations of the developed activities were made. After the application of the research, an evaluation was performed with students involved with it, when the changes in relation to the mathematics perception could be noticed, as well as the interest and the motivation in working with Modelling. === Esta dissertação apresenta a Modelagem Matemática como uma proposta diferenciada de ensino que faculta, ao aluno, ser agente na construção do conhecimento, superando, com motivação e descontração, as dificuldades que a Matemática apresenta. Constitui-se uma pesquisa realizada com alunos da sétima série do Ensino Fundamental, em uma escola pública do município de Marau/RS. Questionou-se como o emprego da Modelagem pode auxiliar na aprendizagem matemática, fazendo com que os alunos gostem dessa disciplina, mudem suas concepções negativas com relação a ela e percebam a sua importância no dia-a-dia. A pesquisa teve uma abordagem qualitativa e descritiva, enfocando o cotidiano, com a criação de modelos. Foram feitas observações das atividades desenvolvidas. Após a aplicação da Modelagem foi realizada a avaliação com os alunos envolvidos na pesquisa, quando se pôde perceber a mudança de concepções com relação à Matemática, bem como de interesse e motivação em trabalhar com Modelagem.
