The development of research occurred in the first half of 2010 with high school students from a private school in Porto Alegre. The study was a comparison of two groups working in rotation with or without the use of the spreadsheet. The research methodology was qualitative with textual analysis of the data and had as theoretical support the Ausubel's meaningful learning, and the teaching methodology was based on the problem solving according to Polya. The study was conducted in the form of an interdisciplinary project with the disciplines of Physics, Biology and Physical Education. The main results were that: a problem solving approach aggregate to the use of spreadsheet was well accepted by students, strengthened the group activities, improved learning and awakened a taste for the study of Mathematics in students who had reservations to its learning earlier. === O trabalho investigou a aprendizagem em Matemática, por meio da construção de conhecimento dos conceitos de matrizes, determinantes e sistemas lineares, utilizando a planilha como recurso. O desenvolvimento da investigação ocorreu no primeiro semestre de 2010 com alunos do Ensino Médio de uma escola particular de Porto Alegre. O estudo foi comparativo com as duas turmas trabalhando de forma alternada com o sem o recurso da planilha. A metodologia da pesquisa foi qualitativa com a análise textual dos dados e teve como suporte teórico a aprendizagem significativa de Ausubel e a metodologia de ensino baseada da resolução de problemas segundo Polya. O trabalho foi desenvolvido na forma de um projeto interdisciplinar com as disciplinas de Física, Biologia e Educação Física. Os principais resultados obtidos foram que: a abordagem de resolução de problemas agregada ao uso da Planilha foi bem aceita pelos alunos, fortaleceu as atividades em grupo, melhorou a aprendizagem e despertou o gosto pelo estudo da Matemática em alunos que tinham reservas ao seu estudo anteriormente.
