The relevance of studying this theme is due to eminent fact of loosing lives and also due to the effects that this kind of act provokes in the people next to the person who commits this lethal action. Investigating the dynamics of an attempt of suicide can contribute in a very meaningful way to the proposition of preventive measures, favoring life. The main objective of this thesis is to study the occurrence of attempts of suicide on the face of experiencing traumatic experiences. Thus, the four articles composing this thesis are divided in two groups: theoretical articles and empirical articles. The first article is about the propositions of Freud and Ferenczi about the theory of trauma, so as the contributions of Piera Aulagnier about violence. This article develops a text about trauma and its relations with psychic pain and the act. The second article is about the matter of the representability and the unrepresentabilïty of psychic contents and its influence on nowadays psychoanalytic clinic. The concept of Vorstellung is used according to Freudian texts. The second group of articles is about the empiric data obtained from the participants of the accomplished study. The first empirical article portrays a qualitative study in which the compex psychic situation of five people who tried to commit suicide were investigated, by means of a series of four semi-oriented interviews, performed according to the methodology of Interpretative Analysis, based on the psychoanalytic theory.This article supports, through the presentation of five assertions illustrated with excerpts from the interviews with the participants, the proposition that the attempt of suicide is a pain-act resulting from the experience of traumatic situations. The second empirical article is the analysis of a clinical case with a person that performed a severe attempt of suicide. In this article the dimension of the traumatic and the resulting psychic pain motivating the act is explored. Excerpts from the interviews are presented and with presuppositions of the psychoanalytic theory. The results found on this thesis allow us to name the suicide attempt resulting from the experience of the traumatic as a pain-act. In addition, it is believed that the resources and suicide prevention strategies must take into consideration the relevance of offering to the suicide attempter a space of acceptance and careful listening. === O suicídio é considerado um problema de saúde pública, e a ocorrência de uma tentativa de suicídio é um forte preditor de que um suicídio venha a ocorrer. A relevância de estudar esta temática deve-se tanto às vidas que se perdem, como também aos efeitos que produz em pessoas próximas de quem comete o ato letal. Dessa forma, investigar a dinâmica de uma tentativa de suicídio contribui de maneira significativa na proposição de medidas preventivas e de favorecimento à vida. Esta tese de doutorado tem como objetivo principal estudar a ocorrência de tentativa de suicídio frente à vivência por parte do sujeito de situações traumáticas. Nesse sentido, os quatro artigos que compõem este trabalho estão divididos em dois grupos: artigos teóricos e artigos empíricos. O primeiro artigo teórico aborda as contribuições de Sigmund Freud e Sándor Ferenczi a respeito da teoria do trauma, assim como as proposições de Piera Aulagnier a respeito da violência. O artigo desenvolve um texto a respeito do trauma e suas relações com o tema da dor psíquica e o ato. O segundo artigo teórico teve como objetivo abordar a questão da representabilidade e irrepresentabilidade dos conteúdos psíquicos e sua influência na clínica psicanalítica atual. Aborda-se o conceito de Vorstellung conforme o proposto nos textos freudianos. O segundo grupo de artigos refere-se aos dados empíricos obtidos junto aos participantes do estudo realizado. O primeiro artigo empírico apresenta os achados de pesquisa junto aos cinco participantes. As entrevistas realizadas foram trabalhadas com metodologia qualitativa, sendo os achados interpretados pelo método de Análise Interpretativa e com pressupostos da teoria psicanalítica.Este artigo permite sustentar, a partir da apresentação de cinco asserções ilustradas com vinhetas das falas dos participantes, a proposição de ser a tentativa de suicídio um ato-dor resultante da vivência de situações traumáticas. O segundo artigo empírico é constituído pelo estudo de caso de uma participante da pesquisa que efetivou uma grave tentativa de suicídio. Explora-se neste artigo a dimensão do traumático e a conseqüente dor psíquica que motivam o ato da tentativa de suicídio. São apresentadas vinhetas do material clínico trabalhadas com pressupostos da teoria psicanalítica. Os resultados encontrados nesta tese permitem nomear a tentativa de suicídio decorrente da vivência do traumático como um ato-dor. Considera-se, ainda, que os recursos e estratégias de prevenção ao suicídio devem levar em consideração a relevância de oferecer ao tentador de suicídio um espaço de acolhimento e escuta.
