A religiosidade como alma da cultura e como afirmação da identidade afro-brasileira

The challenge appears to be greater than just conducting research that is concentrated on the theological aspect related to the others, without deeply researching the rest of the elements. However, when considering that religious expression, elaborated in a more theological sense, is essentially the manifestation of life, one would then feel the need to establish the processes of concentration for something that has, simultaneously, an inclusion of the subjects in these contexts and the specifics related to these contexts. This way, in Afro-Brazilian religiousness one finds both the diversity and the reality as affirmations related to the peculiar mannerisms of the everyday routines of individuals, communities, and people, that make of their experience a search for religious and cultural recognition and identity. However, how would this aspect relate with the affirmation of an identity? This dissertation traces the paths of investigative theological dialogue to matters connected to the cultural bias around expressions of faith and the discourse of the other sciences, in the approach with the actual wisdom of each ancestral religious tradition.Although this dissertation is written in the context of Brazil’s southern region, and, in fact, concentrates on this territory, one cannot speak of only one locale without including others. This is precisely why the exclusive aspect of territoriality is not the objective of the research. Yet, this theme is interesting to the research in the context of Latin American theology, keeping in mind questions of density, amplitude, and depth of the realities, differences, contradictions, inconsistencies, and quality of this context. Since it will not be part of its goal, one should not regard this dissertation as an epistemological project. === A temática que envolve este estudo tem um forte apelo em várias áreas de pesquisa, talvez por uma abrangência interligada a elementos históricos, antropológicos, sociais, econômicos, entre outras áreas muito conceituadas. Logo, o desafio parece ser muito maior que o de realizar uma pesquisa que se volte ao aspecto teológico relacionado a todos os outros, sem deixar de aprofundar cada um deles. Contudo, ao perceber que a expressão religiosa, mais elaborada no sentido teológico, é essencialmente manifestação de vida, daí sentimos a necessidade em delimitar quais os processos de aprofundamento para algo que têm, ao mesmo tempo, a abrangência do assunto nestes contextos e o específico relacionado a eles. Assim, encontramos na diversidade da religiosidade afro-brasileira e a realidade da mesma como uma afirmação relacionada de modo peculiar no cotidiano de cada pessoa, comunidade e povo que faz da sua experiência uma busca de identificação e identidade religiosa e cultural. Porém, como se daria este aspecto relacionado com a afirmação de uma identidade? Esta dissertação trilha caminhos de diálogo teológico investigativo para questões ligadas ao viés cultural em torno de expressões de fé e do discurso das demais ciências, na abordagem com a própria sabedoria de cada tradição religiosa ancestral.Mesmo dissertando dentro do horizonte de pesquisa limitado à região sul do Brasil, atendo-se mais a ela, não se pode restringir falar de uma localidade apenas, por isso não é objeto de dessa investigação o aspecto exclusivo da ‘territorialidade’. No entanto, intriga-nos nesta temática uma leitura teológica latino-americana, ciente do fato da densidade, amplitude e profundidade das realidades, diferenças, contradições, incoerências e riquezas deste contexto – assim não podemos abarcá-lo enquanto projeto epistemológico, e nem será a nossa intenção aqui.
