| Summary: | The subject is relevant, as creation of open, democratic society and consideration of modern trends of the world, the formerly simple understanding of artistic education, provided by cultural and educational institutions is currently changing. Systems of cultural and educational institutions, providing services of artistic education, have an impact on cultural development. Each territorial community consists of people and groups of people, therefore, a micro-socium may be found in each of them. Territorial communities unavoidably interact with cultural and educational institutions located in their territory.
This research is important both theoretically and practically, as systems of territorial cultural and educational institutions and their purpose in improvement of community culture in Lithuania have not been analysed. Solution of cultural and social problems of territorial community can be influenced by educational institutions, that provide services of artistic education, such as promoting artistic expression, artistic, creative and general abilities. Therefore, the thesis is important for institutions of artistic education, aiming for cooperation and promotion of cultural life in the regions.
