Description
Summary:An improved driving oscillator, new speed indicator, and rotor have been constructed for the ultracentrifuge at the McGill Radiation Laboratory. The dry proteins, insulin and serum albumin, have been irradiated with 50 Mev cyclotron protons at a measured, standard proton current of 0.0761+/-0.007 ua. The dosage of protons was varied by increasing the period of bombardment in steps from one to eight minutes. The effects of the irradiation were studied in an ultracentrifuge.
