An amplifier for use in driving an analog to digital converter in an ultra-wideband test system was designed and simulated. The amplifier has differential inputs and outputs and a bandwidth of greater than 500 MHz. According to simulation, the linearity for frequencies above 100 MHz is ten times better than amplifiers currently on the market. The design of this amplifier involved: studying impacts of circuit topology on linearity, creating a schematic design, getting a package model, laying out the die and extracting parasitics, and creating simulation tests. by David Michael Signoff.
