The aims of the program are the advancement of engineering education and the development of new commercial products. This particular project was sponsored by Becton Dickinson, a Fortune 500 biomedical company, to develop a next generation QBC blood analyzer. This thesis documents the mechanical design of the machine as well as the development process used by the MIT student team.
