Summary:Pedagogical content knowledge is the knowledge that teachers have about how to teach a given subject. It is acquired through training and experience, but is also influenced by the personal beliefs of the teacher about how students learn, and how to achieve the goals of the curriculum. The pedagogical content knowledge of text teachers (of both secular and religious literature) includes their approaches to the text, also referred to as interpretive stances, or orientations.
