Whenmultiple antennas are present at nodes, precoders can be implemented based onthe channel state information (CSI) to further improve the system performance. Inthis thesis, the precoder design problem at the source and relay nodes in a two-hopnetwork is analyzed. In particular, we consider an amplify and forward (AF) relaysystem operating in half duplex mode.For the rst scenario, we design precoders and decoder in a three node AF re-lay system to maximize the received signal to noise ratio (SNR). The proposed schemeis based on transmission of a single stream data. In the the second scenario, under thesame system model, we suggest precoder structures that can support transmission ofmulti streams of data.The suggested methods in the rst two parts of this thesis require full CSI ofall the links. To reduce the required CSI, as the last part of this thesis, we proposea precoding scheme based on partial channel state information between nodes. Thisscenario is based on availability of multiple relays for cooperation and negligibility of the source to destination link.
